Time for vacation! You’ve got your passport, stopped the mail, notified the bank, booked your travel and lodging, packed according to your extensive list, and have left no stone unturned! But you are not quite ready, all of that means nothing if you haven’t prepared your body for the changes in environments and situations you are about to experience. Dr. Anita Haque and her certified fitness trainer husband Don Parker have seen what happens when people fail to prepare their bodies for vacation dozens of times, watching vacations become memorable for all the wrong reasons as travelers get sick, have a terrible time, and need a vacation from their vacation when they get home. Dr. Haque is a practicing chiropractor and certified fitness trainer who focuses on educating her patients and community on natural health and wellness. Her husband Don discovered weight training in early childhood and it soon became his passion, leading him to leave his job in corporate America to follow his dream of becoming a certified fitness trainer and helping others with their training and lifestyle.

After more than a decade spent investigating farming communities around the world in pursuit of singular flavor, Dan Barber finally concluded that; for the sake of our food, our health and the future of the land; America’s cuisine required a radical transformation. Drawing on the wisdom and experience of chefs, farmers and seed breeders around the world, Barber proposes a new definition for ethical and delicious eating in The Third Plate: Field Notes on the Future of Food. Dan is the co-owner and executive chef of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Farms. His opinions on food and agricultural policy have appeared in the New York Times, along with many other publications and he was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
